The symposium ARTikulationen 2017 was held in Graz between the 5th and 7th of October 2017.

Three world-famous and important personalities combining for the areas of music and thinking were providing the keynotes: Alfred Brendel, Georg Friedrich Haas and George Lewis. Alongside the keynotes, different formats – such as lecture-recitals, guest-lectures, poster-presentations and a round table about the practices of artistic research – were combined to constitute the program of the ARTikulationen. The encouragement of young academics is promoted as well as the discourse of international experts. Additionally, this year the two most important institutions for artistic research in music – the Orpheus Institute (Ghent) and the Inter Arts Center at Lund University (Malmö) – are contributing to the round-table and by two lecture-recitals by guest doctoral candidates.

The ARTikulationen 2017 took place in Graz, Austria at the Orangerie in the Burggarten (5th October) and the Florentinersaal of the Palais Meran at the University of Music and Perfoming Arts (6th-7th October).
